Public Involvement

MTO is committed to an extensive consultation and engagement program that actively engages and involves members of the public, non-government organizations (NGOs), municipalities, First Nations, regulatory agencies, businesses and industry. As such, the Project Team welcomes comments regarding the Highway 11/17 four-laning project. All comments received, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the public record.

Notifications

Notification of project milestones (study commencement, Public Information Centres, and public review periods for the ESR Addendum) will be announced through a notice advertised in the Thunder Bay Chronicle-Journal and Red Rock Nipigon Gazette and posted on this website. External agencies, First Nations, Township of Dorion, emergency services and anyone on the study contact list will be notified through direct mail.

Public Information Centres (PICs)

External agency and public consultation will take place throughout the study, including two rounds of Public Information Centres (PICs).


PIC #1

The first PIC will provide the opportunity for the public, agencies and stakeholders to review and comment on:

Due to the on-going pandemic, PIC #1 is being held virtually. Persons requiring accommodation to review these materials are encouraged to contact the Project Managers to discuss accessibility requirements. Comments are requested by August 21, 2021 via the Contact Us page on this project website, or by contacting the Project Managers listed in the display boards.  Please note comments are welcome at any time during the study.
